Accounting

Accurate books are the foundation for every other decision, from tax planning to pricing to getting a loan. We set up QuickBooks the right way, fix what is already there, and deliver financial statements that are worth reading.

Bookkeeping

Monthly bookkeeping that keeps your records current, reconciled, and ready for tax time or a lender's request without a scramble.

Who it's forOwners who are behind on their books, doing it themselves at night, or paying for a bookkeeper whose work has to be redone every April.

Every month we categorize your transactions, reconcile every bank and credit card account, record payroll and loan activity, and close the period. You get a set of statements and a short note on what changed and anything that needs your attention.

Because the same firm prepares your tax return, the books are kept the way the return needs them: fixed assets tracked, owner draws separated from expenses, and sales tax and payroll liabilities tied out to what was actually filed.

What's included
  • Transaction categorization
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Accounts receivable and payable tracking
  • Monthly close with financial statements
  • Fixed asset and loan schedules
  • Year-end tax-ready package
How far behind can we be?It doesn't matter. Years of unrecorded activity are handled as a cleanup project first, then move onto a monthly schedule.

Bookkeeping Cleanup

A one-time project to repair books that are incomplete, duplicated, miscategorized, or simply years behind.

Who it's forBusinesses switching accountants, owners who just learned their numbers were wrong, and anyone facing a tax deadline, loan application, or sale with books they can't trust.

We start with a diagnostic: what's in the file, what's missing, and what the bank statements say actually happened. Then we rebuild from the source documents, fix opening balances, clear out uncategorized and suspense accounts, and reconcile every account to the statement.

The result is a clean set of books tied to the bank, a list of what we found and corrected, and a QuickBooks file your next bookkeeper (or we) can keep current without inheriting old mistakes.

What's included
  • File diagnostic and scope letter
  • Rebuild from bank and card statements
  • Duplicate and miscategorized entry correction
  • Undeposited funds and suspense cleanup
  • Reconciliation of every account
  • Prior-year adjustments coordinated with the tax return
Can you clean up multiple years at once?Yes. Multi-year cleanups are common, especially before filing unfiled returns, and are priced as a fixed project once we've seen the file.

QuickBooks Setup

A chart of accounts and workflow designed for your business, not the software's default template.

Who it's forNew businesses, owners moving from spreadsheets or another system, and companies whose current QuickBooks file was set up by someone guessing.

We configure QuickBooks Online or Desktop around how money actually moves through your business: the right chart of accounts for your industry, classes or locations if you have more than one line of business, products and services, sales tax settings, and connected bank feeds.

Setup includes a short working session so you and your staff know what to do (and not do) in the file, and what we take care of each month.

What's included
  • QuickBooks Online or Desktop configuration
  • Industry-specific chart of accounts
  • Bank feed and app connections
  • Sales tax, customers, vendors, and items
  • Opening balances and conversion from prior system
  • Staff training session
Online or Desktop? Most new clients belong on QuickBooks Online. Some businesses with inventory, job costing, or multi-entity needs still do better on Desktop Enterprise, and we support both.

QuickBooks Consulting

Help from someone who uses QuickBooks every day, for the problems the help desk can't solve.

Who it's forOwners and in-house bookkeepers who have a specific issue: a reconciliation that won't balance, a report that looks wrong, an inventory or payroll setup question, or a file that has become slow and messy.

Consulting is billed by the engagement, not a subscription. Bring the problem, we diagnose it, fix it, and show you how to avoid it. Typical projects include repairing a bank reconciliation that's been forced, setting up job costing or class tracking, building management reports, and reviewing an in-house bookkeeper's work each quarter.

If the fix is bigger than a consulting session, we'll tell you and quote it as a cleanup.

What's included
  • Troubleshooting and file review
  • Custom reports and dashboards
  • Class, location, and job costing setup
  • Inventory and item setup
  • Quarterly review of in-house bookkeeping
  • Third-party app and integration advice
Do you work with our existing bookkeeper?Often. Many clients keep their bookkeeper for daily entry and bring us in for setup, review, and the year-end tie-out.

Financial Reporting

Statements and management reports that tell you what is happening in the business and why.

Who it's forOwners who want more than a tax return once a year, and businesses that report to partners, lenders, investors, or a franchisor.

Beyond the standard balance sheet and profit and loss, we build the reports you actually make decisions with: gross margin by service line, job or location profitability, cash position and upcoming obligations, and comparisons to last year and to budget.

Reports can be prepared monthly or quarterly, with a short written summary, and formatted to meet lender covenants or partner reporting requirements.

What's included
  • Monthly or quarterly financial statements
  • Management reports by line, job, or location
  • Lender and investor reporting packages
  • Key metrics and trend tracking
  • Budget vs. actual comparison
  • Written commentary on results
Are these audited or reviewed statements? These are compiled or management-use statements. If a lender requires a review or audit, we'll help you understand the requirement and what it will take.
